Happy June 1st everyone! Summer is almost here, and we have certainly been feeling the warm weather around here. It was in the 90s on Saturday, although Sunday cooled down significantly. And actually, looking at the forecast, it’s going to be more in the 60s for the next 10 days. Works for me! I like it semi warm, not hot.
Since Friday was the day before the holiday weekend, I ended up leaving work a bit early and caught the express train home. I did some grocery shopping, and David and I ended up eating a calzone and hot wings for dinner while watching The Revenant (WOW, by the way!)
Saturday was a day spent in the garage. We lazed around in the morning and at noontime we headed in to the garage to work on putting up OSB on the walls. The first few cuts were slow going, but once we had a routine down, it went pretty quickly.
Another low key night followed since we had to be up early the next morning.
Sunday was my cousin’s fiancee’s bridal shower in Maine. It was about 3 1/2 hours up there and we spent the majority of the afternoon with my family (on my mom’s side). The wedding is in less than two weeks and I’m so excited! I love weddings. 🙂
For a game we played “Kacie or Tony?” where we had to either point to the tiara or put up the mustache when answering questions about them. No score was kept; it was just for fun.
I also got my hair cut, and I love the new length!
We didn’t get home until about midnight and woke up around 8:30 on Monday morning. It was another day of garage work, but thankfully my father in law came to help so that I could get stuff done in the house. Our next few weekends are packed so I wanted to clean the house and get the errands out of the way.
The opposite wall is (almost) complete! Once the walls are done, we’ll have the finished electrical done and then the floor and we’ll be ready to move in! We have a party coming up in the beginning of July, too, so we hope that it’s all completed by then. I’ve also been looking at pavers for the outside patio too. So much to choose from!
How was your holiday weekend? Any house projects you’re working on?
