Why Beautycounter

Let’s actually start this right from the beginning: the summer of 2019.

During that time, I was about 20 weeks pregnant with my second child and my skin was starting to act up. It was probably a good mix of hormones and my skin care routine just not staying up to par, but in either case, I wanted to make a change. For the longest time, I had been following Teri at A Foodie Stays Fit and she was raving about the products from Beautycounter. I actually had my hesitations at first because the products just seemed so expensive. Were they really worth it? After talking with Teri, and filling out her skincare questionnaire, I decided to take that plunge and purchase a few items to get me started. I never really had a great morning and evening routine, and I really wanted to change that. I also had blemishes along my hair line and t-zone that never got better.

BEFORE

This picture/still-from-a-video was from July of last year. This is probably my only true “before” picture because I was always trying to use foundation and makeup to cover up the imperfections.

My first purchase was the Overnight Resurfacing Peel:

Quite honestly, this alone cleared up everything on my face. As much as we shouldn’t right now, I just can’t stop touching my face and marveling at how the bumps are simply just…gone. I used it about every three days and not until a month ago (I purchased it last August) did I finally run out.

Over the last year, I’ve added cleansers, moisturizers, serums and this new game changer, the All Bright C Serum.

A year later, after using these products every day:

WOW. I have never in my life felt so confident and comfortable in my skin. The picture on the left is with no make up on at all and the one on the right is with a little bit of make up (from Beautycounter of course!).

As I’ve mentioned in past posts, I will highlight my favorite products in their own dedicated posts.

And now we fast forward to the end of May. While I was still working my full time job, I was also open to looking for a little side gig where I could make some extra income. I, again, reached out to Teri for guidance about becoming a consultant. I will be upfront and honest with you, my initial sign up was because of the awesome discount (25%!) and they were offering a discount on the initial signing up as a consultant. But along with that, I really wanted to share what their mission and goal is: to get safer beauty products in the hands of everyone (they also have a men’s and children’s line!)

From their website:

One by one, we are leading a movement to a future where all beauty is clean beauty. We are powered by people, and our collective mission is to get safer products into the hands of everyone. Formulate, advocate, & educate—that’s our motto for creating products that truly perform while holding ourselves to unparalleled standards of safety. Why? It’s really this simple: beauty should be good for you.

I highly encourage you to check out their website and read up on the details of their mission and how they’re taking it all the way to Washington, DC!

Up until the end of June, this venture was a side project; again, something to make a little extra money. But now that my full time job has ended, I’m hoping to devote more time and energy into my business. And like I’ve reiterated before, my first goal is to educate anyone who isn’t familiar with the products themselves. And it’s because I use them and I love them! I would never try and sell anything if I didn’t personally use or recommend them.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me, or if you’ve had an interest in the products, but don’t know what will work for you, please feel free to fill out my skincare questionnaire! I promise you, it doesn’t get you on an e-mail list or anything of the sort. I’m here to assist, one on one. Smile
