This past Saturday (9/9) I ran my first race of 2017, and it was my first race after having Eleanor!
The company I work for volunteers at a race in Roxbury, for the Dimock Center, and this was my first year participating. I wasn’t sure how I would do going in to it, but I was ready for the challenge.
My intention was to run with the stroller, but as the start time neared, it was clear that Eleanor did not want to be in it. Luckily my coworkers were more than happy to watch her while I ran. đ I told them I wouldn’t be more than 45 minutes anyway…
…and I wasn’t! I was super surprised by my finish time: 31:21, which is a 10:06 pace. I walked the water stops, and a hill or two, but ran for the majority. I was so sure that I would be closer to 34 or 35 minutes, so you can imagine my surprise when I saw 31 on the clock when I crossed.
Another successful race in the books!
The rest of our Saturday was pretty laid back. On Sunday, we visited a local farmer’s market to pick up some groceries (vegetables and a whole wheat loaf). I had my cool sidekick with me. đ
How was your weekend? If you’re local, what’s your favorite farmer’s market to visit?
