Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations. Not running related, but my husband and I enjoy hiking. We've done some serious hikes (Katahdin, Washington, Moosilauke, etc.) and even though I'm cursing the hike up, the view at the top is always worth it.

Run the mile you are in. If I'm out for long runs, I really try to focus on the mile or segment that I'm in, rather than focusing on the whole thing. I should emphasize the word "try" because usually I'm just thinking about finishing. π€£
