Back in February, I received an e-mail that the Backstreet Boys were performing at Sphere in Las Vegas. I immediately got on the list for pre-sale and waited for the time to come. I got into two queues for two different dates, and ended up getting (quite possibly) the last ticket under $200. The hotel and flights were booked, and I anxiously waited for July 20th.
I flew out on July 19th and it was quite possibly one of the best flights I’ve taken. I upgraded to Delta Comfort, had the whole row to myself, and no one sitting in front of me. In the 5 1/2 hour flight, I watched The Birdcage, The Devil Wears Prada and a few episodes of Parks and Recreation. When I landed, the hotel car was right there to take me to the hotel.
When I found out where Sphere was located, it was a no-brainer that I would stay at the Wynn. And of course, the service was top-notch. My room was on the 51st floor and was on a quiet corner of the building.
Sunday morning, I visited Terrace Pointe Café to have breakfast: eggs benedict with potatoes and fruit (and lots of coffee!).
After breakfast, I killed some time by walking around the area of the hotel. Since it was 100 degrees out, I didn’t venture out too far. I made it to the Venetian to enjoy some gelato and stopped into the BSB pop up. So much fun! Music playing, videos of the boys, photo ops, etc..
Around 4PM, I ordered some room service dinner (chicken Caesar salad) because I was getting my hair done at 5PM. I loved my outfit and it was super comfortable. The band put out the request that people wear white and/or blue. Everyone showed up! ![]()
The walk was super simple since the Wynn connected to the venue by a sky bridge. My seats were on the side, in the 200s and it was perfect! I was on the aisle, three rows from the top and near the bathroom and bar. They were selling souvenir cups and of course I had to get one!
The show started at 8:45 and they sang 25 songs, over 90 minutes. It was incredible! I took more videos than pictures, but here’s a few of the stunning visuals. (I have some videos posted on my Tiktok: @alainabliss).
Easy walk back and I was in bed by 11:30.
The next day I was flying home, but my flight wasn’t until 10PM. I visited the gym and did a 20 minute walk on the treadmill. Then I relaxed by the pool for about an hour, swimming and reading my book. (I’m reading The Diamond Eye about a true story of a Russian woman sniper during WWII – highly recommended!)
I spent the rest of the morning and afternoon by walking around again. I had lunch at the Venetian (prosecco and pasta) and made my way to Caesars Palace. I was just nonchalantly walking through the shops and ended up walking right past Mark Wahlberg! Two Massachusetts-ians ending up in Vegas, haha.
I didn’t know what else to do and I didn’t want to just spend money, so I caught a cab to the airport at 5PM. I had dinner at the Chili’s near the gate and just sat and read and scrolled.
My flight left without any issue (probably one of the smoothest takeoffs I’ve ever experienced), and I didn’t have anyone in the seat next to me. It was another 5ish hour flight, so I watched Wicked and then some episodes of Veep. Flight landed at 6AM, and I was easily able to take the commuter rail home. I ended up sleeping until noon sinc eI wasn’t able to fall asleep on the flight.
Looking back on this trip, it could not have gone any better and I’m so glad I was able to see my favorite band in one of the most unique venues. It was my 11th time seeing them. I’ll be so sad when they stop touring!
