March 8th

Happy International Women’s Day! Tomorrow my mom and I are running a virtual 5K in honor of this day. ❤

Running is the greatest metaphor for life, because you get out of it what you put into it.

As someone who absolutely disliked running in high school and college, I can fully attest to how my outlook on life shifted as I began to run. If I wanted to see results, I had to put the work into it. The same goes for my job and my relationships. I had a turning point moment at my first job out of college (The Charles Hotel), where I was written up for not following directions during a check in process. I realized that if I wanted to succeed at my job/career, I needed to put in the work and follow the procedures. After that, I was promoted to concierge and the rest is history!

When it comes to running, while not every race needs hard core training, I’m proud that some of my proudest moments were because I put in the work to make sure I had a successful race. And that doesn’t always include the fastest, but also that I didn’t get injured and I was strong at the finish line (and that I even made it to the start line).

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
