Four Months

I can’t believe our little Eleanor is 4 months old already. And she is an absolute doll. Her dad and I love her so much, and we can’t get enough of her cute little face and emerging personality.

She just had her 4 month check up, so here’s the latest:

Height: 25″
Weight: 14 lbs 8 oz

She’s in the 74th percentile for her weight; 54th percentile for her height. Both my grandfather and David’s grandfather were around the 6 foot mark, so maybe she’s inheriting those genes? David and I are average height (5’4″ me; 5’9″ him).

Anywho, her eyes, ears, lungs, and heart all look and sound good. She had another round of vaccine’s, and David said she did fine with them (with the obvious crying of course).

Eating: She’s on a combination of breast milk and formula. My supply is kind of dwindling so she does get more formula than the breast. She’s eating like a champ though and eats about 20-25 oz per day.

Sleeping (Napping): She is getting SO much better at napping! She wakes up around 5 each morning, then goes down for a morning nap around 11 and again around 3 or 4. She’s usually out for about an hour to an hour and a half. Last weekend, she slept 2 and a half hours at her grandparents house!

Sleeping (Nighttime): We are crossing our fingers and thanking our lucky stars that she’s been sleeping through the night. She’ll go to bed around 7:30 and wake up at 5. She seems to like that amount of sleep, too, because yesterday she went to bed at 6:30 and woke up at 4. And she always wakes up happy. I love seeing her smiles from the crib. ๐Ÿ™‚

Likes: Going out in the stroller, being carried while we walk around the house, eating, standing up on our laps, bath time

Dislikes: Not being held for long periods of time, being confined to the carrier for too long (she loves being held at the same intensity that she loves being free; I guess it’s all a matter of the length of time :-))

Port Wine Stain: She has responded so well to the laser treatments for the birth mark. She has had 4 so far and it’s already lightening up. She has one more today and then we’ll reevaluate to see if we want to continue the treatments.

Mobility: She isย so close to rolling over. She can get on her side but just can’t quite get that arm under her. And she has great head control when she is on her stomach.ย Gotta love the little spit-up just as I was taking the picture.

How I’m Doing: I’m doing pretty well actually! I’m back to work full time (as I’ve mentioned before), but being away from home for 12 hours each day has become a bit tiring. I’m jealous that David gets 5 days with her and I only get 2. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I’m in the throes of half marathon training, and I love that I’m back out on the road. I’ve had no issues or felt any pain while running, and I’m confident that I’ll have a good race in October; slow, but good.

So that’s the latest on our little girl! I just love watching her discover new things each and every day (especially her hands and feet)! We absolutely adore her. ๐Ÿ™‚

Any readers out there have kids around this age? Any advice on what we can expect next?ย I’m still waiting on that 4 month sleep regression.

I love reading updates on Eleanor! It’s fun since James is going through the same things. James slept from 7-8pm to 5-6am for all of five nights, then hit the 4 month sleep regression about 2 weeks ago. Ugh. He started eating less during the day and waking up 2-3 times during the night for a few nights. Now he sleeps from about 7 until 2am then sleeps again until 5:30. I’m hoping we get back to the longer sessions soon!!
